Why not give Breakfast Club a try after Easter? Our buffet style menu is popular with the children - many of them have three courses! |

Families have taken part in making greetings cards after school. Some lucky mums received very beautiful and creative designs on Mothers Day. |

Alien Antics win Competition!
A small group of pupils from Shipley C of E Primary School were delighted to find out that they were the runners up in national competition that saw nearly 400 entries. The activity that the children participated in was called the Aliens Are Landing and was an after school event involving a group of children and their parents. The Alien themed session saw parents and children working together to produce some mini aliens made out of Fimo - a type of polymer clay. In addition they listened to the story The Aliens Are Coming by Colin McNaughton and made alien themed Top Trumps style cards. The aliens made by the children were entered into a competition hosted by manufacturers Staedtler ( U.K.) Limited.
Only the childrens models were entered into the competition although the parents did a pretty good job too and wowed us all with their modelling skills.
| Shipley CE has a whole new class of slightly unusual pupils along with a rather special teacher. The group which features Scary Mary and Scary Boy has been created by the combined efforts of parents and pupils. Scary Mary and Scary Boy were created by separate groups of parents whilst the rest of the class and the teacher were made by a group of families who spent a lot of time stuffing ladies' tights! On September 10th the group (with a Maypole) will participate in the Baildon Wacky Scarecrow Walk so pop the date in your diary now and come and see them in scarecrow action. |

A group of children and parents created mini aliens from polymer clay during our The Aliens Are Landing! craft session. We’ve now entered the children's models into a national competition and are keeping our fingers crossed that they can win a prize for school. |

| The sunshine came out from between the clouds to ensure that reception parents and carers had lots of fun during our Water Play afternoon last week. Bubbles, baths, drainpipes and fish were the order of the day as everyone explored lots of different water activities. |

4 year 6's took part in the Shipley Cake Festival at the weekend. The girls who are part of the Let's get Cooking Club demonstrated cake decorating techniques to members of the public including the Deputy Lord Mayor - Valerie Sinclair. The children showed how to make roses out of fondant icing as well as some very bright cupcake decorations. At several points during the afternoon we had a good crowd watching and the team received many very positive coments. Everyone enjoyed the free tasting samples made by the girls including Crowgill Bowling Club who took the 'leftovers' for their Sunday refreshments! |

| This is the team that won the Chocolate Quiz on 17th February. They successfully tasted their way through a variety of chocolate and proved themselves to be true chocoholics. |
Famililife
Congratulations to those parents who have successfully completed the Famililife course. Certificates were awarded last week. Parents have relaxed during an aromatherapy session, had fun creating their own smoothies and learnt some techniques to help them get the best from their childrens behaviour. Another course will begin in September – watch out for dates and time.

Little Stars
Our baby and toddler group saw its last session of the year take place at Shipley Library with teddy bear stories and mask making. Fortunately the rain stayed away just long enough for everyone to enjoy a tasty picnic. If you have young children and haven’t given the group a try yet why not come along and join us in September?
Let’s Play
Families from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 have enjoyed time together playing games and doing jigsaws. They have created personalised jigsaws and some have also been involved in putting together their own board games. We hope you’ll join in when we come back to school!
