Shipley Friends (PTFA)
What is the PTFA?
Shipley CE Primary School Parent, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) are a group of people who help to organise events for the school and wider community, both fund raising and social. We are called The Shipley Friends.
What are the aims of Shipley Friends?
There has never been as an important time for fundraising in School as now. Budget restriction mean schools need to become more imaginative than ever to raise funds. Shipley Friends aims to raise funds to buy things that will benefit the children at Shipley CE Primary, which the school could not otherwise afford. They will also organise social events for children, parents and friends, as well as fostering community relationships. We hold fundraising events such as Christmas fairs, jumble sales, cakes sales and second hand uniform sales.
Who can belong to The Shipley Friends?
Anyone who has children at the school, or who works at the school is automatically a member of the PTFA. Meetings are open to all members, and you will be made most welcome should you choose to attend.
How can we find out more?
Every September/October the Annual General Meeting takes place. All parents and staff are invited, and it is a great way to meet people for the first time and hear about the PTFA’s achievements and plans for the future.
Committee meetings will be held roughly every 5 or 6 weeks during term time. You don’t need to be a member to help out – come along to a meeting to find out more.
Newcomers will be made most welcome.
Be part of The Shipley Friends team at Shipley CE Primary School.
Being a member of the PTFA will give you lots of pleasure and enhance your family’s relationship with the school. Mums and Dads, Staff and friends all combine as individuals to form a friendly school community and as Year 6 parents leave the school, so new Reception parents join. Everyone is made welcome at any stage through their involvement with the school and it is never too late to get involved. We are always on the lookout for new members with new and fresh ideas or helpers to bake or run a stall for half an hour. Whatever you can put in – it will be appreciated.
How to contact Shipley Friends.
The easiest way to contact us is to leave a message with the school Office and a PTFA member will contact you. Alternatively use the contact form or speak to a parent in the playground.
During the Autumn Term, the Friends will be holding an AGM (Annual General Meeting) to elect Shipley Friends members.
