Spanish

At Shipley CE, we believe that the learning of a language provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for our learners. It is invaluable for the development of their communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, with an aim of making substantial progress in one language. In addition, children’s knowledge of how language structure and vocabulary works will be developed. This helps with the understanding of the English language and will also lay the foundations for further language learning in future. Our vision is learning together in love, and we are committed to inspiring curiosity and appreciation about the many elements of learning another language. As a Christian school, our values are at the heart of everything we do. For example, we aim to build resilience through understanding and remembering new vocabulary and respect, as we demonstrate the importance of understanding elements of the wider world.
